The season normally runs from May to October, and in the midnight sun weeks you can book a tee time in the middle of the night. Driving off at 1 a.m. with the sun hanging over the sea to the north is a golf experience very few courses on the planet can offer – and a guaranteed highlight even for the members of your party who "don't really play golf".

- Driving time from the base: approx. 45 minutes – a beautiful drive in itself, across the Gimsøystraumen bridge.
- Book tee times in advance, especially in high season and for night slots.
- Equipment: the course has a pro shop and rental gear – check what's available when you book if you're travelling without clubs.
- Combine with: the hike up Hoven (368 m) starts by the golf course, and Hov farm next door offers horse rides and food. Gimsøya makes a perfect full-day outing.
