The view from Lofotendreams: sea and mountains through the cathedral windows, wood stove lit

The view

Ask our guests what they remember, and the answer is the view.

Floor-to-ceiling glass frames the sea and the mountains from the living room, the dining table and the terrace. Midnight sun in June, northern lights in winter.

The story

Built to be the chalet we wanted ourselves

We finished Lofotendreams in 2025 as the house we would want after a full day out in Lofoten weather. Day to day it is cared for by Lofoten Vacation, a local agency managing over sixty holiday homes on the islands.

“The panoramic windows in the living room were one of the highlights — the view of the sea and the sunsets were absolutely stunning. The sauna and the fantastic rain shower added a real luxury feeling to the stay.” Stefan · May 2026 · Airbnb
“The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well furnished and tasteful, with a well-stocked kitchen and high-quality bathrooms. After a day of hiking or exploring the island, it was a welcome retreat.” John · February 2026 · Airbnb
“The house was absolutely beautiful. Loved the wood fireplace and sauna. Perfect spot for watching northern lights and plenty of privacy. We absolutely loved it!” Ashlee · October 2025 · Airbnb

How do we get here?

Fly to Leknes via Bodø with Widerøe; the chalet is 7 minutes from the terminal. Or fly direct to Harstad/Narvik Evenes and drive 2.5 to 3 hours down the E10. Car ferries run Bodø to Moskenes, and the coastal ferry calls daily at Stamsund, 20 minutes away. Rent a car whichever way you arrive; there is a free EV charger at the chalet.

When can we see the northern lights?

From September to early April, on clear nights, often from the chalet's own garden and terrace. Nobody can promise aurora.

When is the midnight sun?

Roughly 28 May to 14 July the sun never sets over Lofoten.

Do we need a car in winter?

Yes. Rental cars in Lofoten come on winter tyres by law and the E10 is cleared and salted. Free parking at the chalet.

How many people can sleep here?

Six, in three bedrooms and five beds: a master bedroom on the main floor and two rooms upstairs with large single beds. Two full bathrooms, one with the sauna. Bed linen and towels included.

Is it good for families?

Very. The beach at Skomakerstranda is five minutes' walk away and Leknes has everything from a cinema to a hospital within five minutes.

Can we book directly?

Yes. The booking buttons on this page take you to the chalet's own page at Lofoten Vacation, where you complete the reservation on a live calendar. They handle keys, cleaning and anything you need during the stay.
